The new Yamaha 2021 models

Categories : New Models

Among the new Yamaha 2021 models,we first point out the Euro 5 update this year of almost the entire range. The Euro 5 update covers the 1, 2, 3 and 4 cylinder engine range. The Hyper Naked MT-09 and MT-07 and Tracer 900 (now called the Tracer 9) have been totally revamped with the addition of the Tracer 9 GT. The model of Tracer 7 will also have its new GT variant.

The YZF-R6 supersports car is no longer homologable for road use: it becomes track only', it has been made available only for use on the track. The XT1200Z Super Ténéré and FJR 1300 (found exclusively as the Ultimate Edition) come out of the scene.

The Japanese giant has also launched two new scooters (NMAX and D'Elight 125 for urban mobility), has updated the Cross range, Sport Heritage (including the XSR700) and almost all motorcycles of the Iwata family to euro 5 regulations. The Euro 5 emission regulation, in force since 1 January 2021, has prompted the Japanese company to develop several new or renewed models.

The Yamaha 2021 catalogue is full of novelties: in this focus we focus on this year's flagship bikes: the MT-07, MT-09, MT-09 SP, Tracer 9 and 9 GT.

New Yamaha models 2021: MT-09 "Hyper Naked"

The Hyper Naked MT-09 and MT-09 SP arrive equipped with a new larger displacement engine that complies with Euro 5 regulations, a new look and redesigned chassis.

The Yamaha MT-09 2021 tri-cylinder increases performance with an 889 cc engine and aluminum frame that guarantee more power, precision, manageability. It demonstrates excellent dynamics in every situation and the improvements on the electronic side allow excellent control of the two wheels.

More powerful and light (189 kg, 4 less than the current model), minimalist, robotic, futuristic, adds the inertial platform that makes it more effective in electronic management and the 3.5-inch TFT dashboard. The horses went from 115 to 119 to increase power and torque (from 87.5 Nm to 8,500 rpm to 93 Nm to 7,000 rpm), the race rose from 59.1 to 62.1 mm.

Renew the suspension with a fully adjustable front KYB and an adjustable KYB rear mono. The braking system has a double 298 mm disc.

The traction control together with the slide control manages separately the adhesion losses and the traverse. The advanced braking controls stability and has cornering functionality.

Coming in March 2021, the Yamaha MT-09 is sold for 9,499 euros.

Yamaha MT-09 SP

The Yamaha MT-09 SP, in addition to including all the features of the new MT-09, boasts high-end specifications: saddle with double seam, brushed aluminum swingarm that matches the Crystal Graphite frame, Öhlins shock absorber with special DLC coating totally adjustable (double adjustment in extension/compression at low/high speed), cruise control, high-end KYB front suspension, exclusive finishes including smooth 'water transfer' graphics.

In particular, Cruise Control allows you to set and maintain a speed starting from 50 km/h in fourth gear. Once the speed is fixed, you can increase by 2 km/h constantly holding down the switch or gradually with individual touches of the switch. This system is deactivated whenever the clutch, brake lever or accelerator comes into operation.

The entire ergonomics developed by Kanno Hyoka have been designed for the performance of the bike based on perceptions and feedback from the tester to enhance the driving experience.

Confirm yamaha myride connectivity options (to track and save driving data, review statistics and add travel photos) and Yamaha MyGarage (to create your own virtual bike before purchase).

Available from March 2021, the Yamaha MT-09 SP, in the special color "Icon Performance" (blue/black in different shades on the air intakes and tank), has a list price of 11,199 euros.

Yamaha Tracer 9 and Tracer 9 GT

The Tracer 900 becomes Tracer 9 to which is added the 9 GTTracer, both more powerful, light and better equipped. The new generation of 'travellers' has been revolutionized, from aesthetics to engine, from chassis to electronics.

The design has been renovated in particular in the front: you can see slender and sinuous fairings down and full-LED optical units.

Remember that the bike and engine are derived from the MT-09. Therefore, the Yamaha Tracer 9 has also been profoundly modified to improve performance and driving dynamics.

The engine is lighter (-700 grams) and, at the same time, more powerful (from 115 to 119 horsepower) and efficient (consumption drops by 9%) to the advantage of autonomy (it rises to 350 km with 18 liters of tank). The frame (a die-cast aluminum Deltabox) houses the engine with a more vertical inclination improving agility and feeling on the front.

Compared to the MT-09, the Tracer 9 swingarm has a longer swingarm length (60 mm more) to achieve a more stable trim.

Electronic technology is more advanced. It presents the 6-axis Imu platform with different systems that make it safer and more exciting to drive (TCS traction control, SCS slide control, LIF soaring control and BC brake, YCC-T ride-by-wire accelerator with APSG position sensor).

The new driving position is adjustable along with the windshield, while the dashboard features a dual 3.5" display for monitoring all onboard information.

The Tracer 9 GT features the unprecedented KYB Actimatic Damper System (KADS) semi-active suspension, rigid side bags, standard cornering lights and two-way QSS quickshifters.

Yamaha Tracer 9 and 9 GT will be placed on the market in March 2021 at the respective prices of 11,199 euros and 13,599 euros.

Yamaha MT-07 Blade Rider

The Yamaha MT-07,sister of the MT-09, has also been updated. The 690 cc twin cylinder with an agile, compact and effective bike belonging to the Dark Side of Japan, has high quality technical characteristics and a new design.

It becomes Euro 5 adapting in minimalist design to MT new generation.

The MT-07 has been equipped with a new front braking system, more powerful, with 298 mm discs. Change the driving position (more raised and intuitive) thanks to a saddle/tank group of different shapes and a wider handlebar (+32mm). The 14 lt tank features covers that flow into the saddle and hide the air intakes of the airbox.

Added a new LED optical group with direction indicators that renews the optical signature and the look of the front giving the bike a futuristic Y-shaped front.

The twin-cylinder CP2 engine guarantees a maximum power of 73.4 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and a torque of 67Newton-metro at 6,500. The curve has a more regular trend in order to make driving more dynamic and pleasant.

Each superstructure has better quality surfaces and more cared for in minimalistic finishes.

Thanks to the controls moved to the left block, the new LCD instrumentation is lighter, more ergonomic and more readable.

The new MT-07, available from January 2021, has a list price of 6,999 euros. Version 35 KW is expected.
