New MV Agusta 2022 Models

Categories : New Models

If in 2021 the MV Augusta has renewed the entire range of its bikes bringing them all to Euro 5 and introducing a series of changes in terms of technique and equipment, 2022 is certainly no less from the point of view of novelties. Between updates at a technical level and restyling of models already present in the price list, here are all the changes presented in view of the new year by the company based in Varese.

Brutale 1000 Nurburgring

After the recent versionBrutale 1000RS, a new limited edition model arrives. It is called Brutale 1000 Nurburgring, with 150 units on sale starting from 39,900 euros (7,600 euros more than the Brutale 1000RR from which it derives). This model bears the logo of the famous Nordschleife (the German circuit of 20.8 km built in 1927 that in the past hosted races of the World Championship, Endurance and Formula 1), becoming the most extreme Brutale ever.

Compared to the Brutale 1000RR, it is different for a reduction in dry weight of 3 kg, from 186 to 183 kg (and which fall to 177 kg by mounting the Racing kit), obtained mainly with the adoption of carbon fiber wheels. They are built by BST and have aluminum alloy hubs made from solid.

Obviously, since these are unsprung and rotating masses, weight reduction takes on importance in terms of drivability. Other important changes concern the introduction of a carbon fiber mini-fairing, placed above the headlight and with a load-bearing function. Then there are the special coloring in silver, red and gray and a series of stickers scattered here and there, with acronyms and figures that differentiate the model (in addition to the plate with the progressive numbering). The peculiarities of this model do not end there.

The accompanying Racing kit includes the Arrow titanium exhaust with carbon fiber protection, the control unit with dedicated mapping, the carbon fiber passenger seat cover and the certificate of origin of the numbered series. The exhaust, developed with Arrow based on experience in Superbike, has a different trend of the manifolds: 4 in 2 (coupled cylinders 1-2 and 3-4) before flowing into the final single silencer.

F3 800 RR

The new F3 800 earns the initials RR, goes on sale from 21,900 euros, and joins the Red version that was introduced in May. In renewing the model, the aerodynamics were revised, with the adoption of external appendages on the sides of the fairing (they are made of forged carbon fiber). The flows that cross it generate a load on the front end that reaches eight kilograms when the speed reaches 240 km / h, which is then the maximum declared for the F3 RR.

Also part of the aerodynamic changes are the new front fender, which has improved the flow to the cooling radiator, and the higher windshield. The three-cylinder engine of 798 cc, with counter-rotating shaft and six-speed gearbox of removable type, has received a series of interventions to optimize and reduce friction that have concerned the distribution cups, with DLC treatment, and the material of the valve guides.

The connecting rods, the bench bronzes and the balancing countershaft are new. The valves are made of titanium. The exhaust system has been redesigned and modified also in the design of the three terminals; there are new injectors and the injection pressure has increased. The new electronic control unit has ensured a more punctual gas management. The clutch has been revised to improve reliability and detachment, while the bell has been strengthened. The third-generation EAS 3.0 quick-shift sees the introduction of a new sensor for more precise shifting.

The power is confirmed in 147 hp at 13,000 rpm, even after the transition to the Euro 5 emission standard, and the torque in 9 kgm at 10,100 rpm. At the level of electronics there is to report the arrival of a new inertial platform that manages traction control and ABS (with cornering function), the control of the FLC wheelie then takes place according to the most desired logics. The current front lift control therefore does not inhibit the wheelie but manages and controls it. Then stands out the adoption of a new 5.5-inch TFT dashboard with cruise control and capable of communicating with the MV Ride App (it allows you to customize the bike in all its aspects directly from the Smartphone, as well as offering functions such as recording and sharing routes).

Updates for the chassis, starting from the new side plates of the frame, always in aluminum alloy, which have been redesigned to increase its stiffness and which combine the main structure in upper steel trellis to the single-arm swingarm and its progressive suspension. The rear rim is 10% lighter (4.1 kg) and has reduced the moment of inertia by 7%. The suspension received a new setting adapted to the different characteristics of the frame. Finally, the new CNC machined rider footpegs, the redesigned exhaust tailpipe, the Continental MK100 ABS module, the alcantara and leather saddle and the carbon fiber front spoiler are worth mentioning. Dry weight is declared at 173 kg.

Lucky Explorer Project 950

The roundup of new models for 2022 ends with an unprecedented one within the MV range. This is the first Adventure, oriented to off-road thanks to its 21-inch front and suspension that seem to be of long excursion (on the fork are mounted the sensors that control the excursion) while the front discs mount radial attachment calipers. Tank and wide fairing already give the idea of the chosen stylistic cut, even if the superstructures are not complete.

However, you can see the spacious saddles and the luggage rack with handle also designed to go a long way in pairs. But above all what can be glimpsed in the double steel cradle frame has all the air of being the new 950 cc three-cylinder in-line engine, of which timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta, has anticipated the arrival on several occasions. A series of important news from all points of view, which give a refresh to the price list of the Varese house.
