BMW welcomes 2022 by announcing great news regarding the range of its motorcycles. Innovations that concern multiple fields, to satisfy the tastes of its customers whose desire for updates concerns various characteristics of the bike. The novelties of the new year, in fact, cover both more aesthetic aspects such as colors and options and more technical features. Innovations that refer to almost all the bikes proposed by the Bavarian company and that can be ordered as early as August 2021. To go into more detail, these are the updates divided by model.
BMW S 1000 RR
The roundup of BMW motorcycle models starts with one of those that presents the major news for 2022. Ten years after the first generation of RR, a model is presented renewed in every detail (from the front to the tail).
First of all, a new Style Passion color with metallic Mineral grey is proposed. The M frame kit becomes standard, including oscillating pin and rear linkage. The optional Dynamic package offers new content: Riding Modes Pro, DDC, cruise control and heated knobs. In the Race package there are instead M Endurance chain plus one to choose between sports silencer or M Titanium exhaust system.
The M package includes M Sports saddle, M lightened battery, M GPS with time detection and carbon or M forged wheels. All these options can be ordered simultaneously, but also individually. Also new is the lid of the tank, black in color. Also new in the Billet pack, with brake and clutch levers M, M footpegs and brake lever protection. Engine protection and clutch lever protection are no longer available, thus making the package cheaper. Although all packages are now combinable, the Sport package, on the other hand, abandons the price list.
BMW F 750 GS
As for this model, there are fewer novelties for 2022 than the previous one. Specifically, the new Triple Black style with Metallic Black Storm for the GS 750 includes 2 handguards, while the 40 years GS Edition and the Metallic Black storm color are no longer available.
BMW F 900 R
Regarding the F 900 R model, comes a new Exclusive style with metallic Blue stone. There is also a Sport style, with the following colors: Light white, Racing blue metallic and Racing red. The Sport style also includes the lower engine guard, while there is no passenger seat cover. If two new styles are proposed for this model, two others leave the price list. These are the San Marino blue metallic and the Sport Hockenheim style, with metallic Silver and Racing red.
BMW F 850 GS
BMW's larger GS model features the same novelty as the F 750 model. The innovation for 2022 corresponds to a new Triple Black style with metallic Black storm and the 2 handguards. The same goes for the "farewells", since the Edition 40 years GS and the black storm metallic color are no longer on the list.
BMW F 850 GS Adventure
The already well-known Triple Black style with Metallic Black storm also arrives on the GS 850 Adventure. In addition, compared to the "classic" F 850 model, we also find a new double saddle and a new Light white color. Also for the Adventure are to be recorded the eliminations from the list of Edition 40 years and Black storm metallic, as well as the color Ice grey.
BMW S 1000 XR
Several innovations have also been made on this model, starting with an innovation that represents a bit the common trait of many BMW motorcycles for 2022 or the new Triple Black style with Black storm metallic 2. Two other colors are also available, namely Racing Red 2 and Light White/M Motorsport. There are instead some colors that are no longer present in the price list, namely Ice Grey, Racing Red, White Aluminium metallic matt and Light white, Racingbl. Met. and Racing Red (Style Sport).
Finally, there are two other innovations that complete the picture of this model for 2022. For the first time on the XR is available the M Package, in combination with the Light white/M Motorsport. Instead, the Billet pack eliminates the left protection of the engine.
BMW G 310 used Tractor
As for the GS model, which is the smallest bike belonging to this category, the 40 Years version will no longer be present. Instead, a new Triple Black color in Cosmicblack uni 2 arrives.
Speaking instead of the R model, there is no longer the Polar white version. One of the novelties concerns the arrival of a Passion livery in kyanite blue metallic with red rims. In addition, the new Cosmic black 2 variant has a badge and a headlight mask in black color.
BMW R nineT
On the BMW Scrambler , off-road tires become an option, at the price of 50 euros. For the Urban GS model, on the other hand, new colors arrive (Imperial blue metallic and Black storm metallic), while the 40 years edition leaves the price list. As for the cousin Scrambler also on the Urban GS it will be possible to mount the tessellated tires with a surcharge of 50 euros.
BMW R 18 and R 18 Classic
For the big BMW cruisers come new colors: Mars red metallic, Manhattan metallic matt and Option 719 Galaxy Dust metallic/Titanium silver2 metallic. The latter version benefits from black transmission and reversing assistance. The luggage holder also changes, as it is no longer necessary to disassemble it when driving without suitcases. The new Option 719 Design Package Aero includes brushed aluminum cylinder head covers, as well as the Option 719 saddle and 2 Aero and Icon wheel options. The chrome option will be selectable on all variants.
BMW R 1250 GS 2022
We close with what can be called the queen of GS models, which has a new option (a new support for aluminum suitcases). Few changes for this model, but it will be totally revisited with many new features in 2023.
